In the 1890’s, American ever ready company founder cibrad hubert lit up new york city with the help of drycell batteries and his newest invention, the electric hand torch. Hubert, a Russian immigrant, experimented with everything from electric tie tacks to electric flower pots before aquiring a patent for the first Everyready flashlight in 1998. the first flashlight was made from crude paper & fiber tubes with a bulb & a brass reflector.
